I didn’t hear a single Republican on that stage condemn any of the Tea Partiers who applauded at the “let the patient die” line. Not even the ONE MEDICAL DOCTOR WHO IS ON THAT FUCKING STAGE. And don’t think for a SECOND that the Republican Party hasn’t shaped its values and virtues to the Tea Party mold. Tonight’s “debate” is showing the GOP’s true colors. And they’re painted with the hues off of the Tea Party pallette.

The Decade of Magical Thinking: A Rumpus Lamentation on What We Lost

“The story of 9/11, the grand fiction we constructed as a culture in the days and months and years afterward, ran something like this:

A band of religious psychopaths, acting without rational motive, murdered the innocence of a proud and blameless nation. Slowly, heroically, that brave nation dug out from the rubble and exacted revenge.

It was a story bled dry of doubt or nuance, a piece of propaganda. It divided the world along the fault-line of the zealot. America had been wronged and therefore could do no wrong.”

Jessie Dickson was sneaking down to the water’s edge at Ritch Grissom Memorial Wetlands in Viera, Florida, to photograph a bird when he noticed this young peninsula cooter. “Normally, I can’t get close to the turtles at wetlands since they are very skittish and dive into the water at the slightest provocation,” the local resident said. “This little guy seemed not to care at all that I lay down close to him.” Dickson used a Nikon D80. In which I discuss people being dumb on the internet.

So there’s apparently some controversy over Chaz Bono being on Dancing With the Stars because he’s a transman.

So on Yahoo New’s article about this, one commenter had this little gem to contribute:

“I don’t hate the sinner – I hate the sin.

Chimeras and hermaphrodites made the choice to be the way they are. Same with trans people.

The bible is perfectly clear on the morality of people of both sexes, or people of a gender that doesn’t match the sex they were born with.

True Christians and true scotsmen know what they are meant to feel on this issue.”

Dear Dumbass,

The definition of “chimera” you appear to be thinking of is “an organism composed of two or more genetically distinct tissues, as an organism that is partly male and partly female” – this is a GENETIC FLUKE, which has jack all to do with choice. You don’t just decide one day while your chillin’ in you mom’s womb that, oh, some of my cells/tissues/organs should have male chromosomes and some should have female chromosomes. Genetics doesn’t work that way.

And “hermaphrodite”? Well, people who are born intersex don’t CHOOSE to be born intersex. It’s kind of out of their control, since, ya know, they don’t get to pick how they’re going to turn out before they’re born. And they don’t get to pick which gender they’ll be raised as, ‘cause guess what? THEY’RE AN INFANT. Whatever choice are made are made by the parent(s). It’s very true that sometimes people who are born intersex and raised as one gender later choose to change genders.

And the Bible does not specifically address transexuality. However, you seem to be implying that chimeras and intersex people are sinners by virtue of being born with genetic anomalies. This is no different from saying that someone is a sinner because they were born with blue eyes. And it makes you a douchebag.

And I have no freaking idea why you chose to drag the poor Scots into this nonsensical post of yours.
