How about this theory. The twist of Star Wars 8 is that Finn is a sleeper agent, similar to the clone troopers. This conditioning tricking the force, until he get’s close enough to Luke. Why other soldiers avoided killing him, Phasma remembered his number and didn’t try to fight them on the star killer base.

Not one I’m on board with. It doesn’t jive at all with the novelization or before the awakening either.

I’m leaning more towards the idea the force gave him the nudge to break his conditioning. Helped him realize the ‘right thing to do’.

That is reminiscent of the “Sam Wilson is secretly HYDRA” theory (which I am so not on board with) and is part of why “Finn is a sleeper agent”/”Finn will fall to the Dark Side” are also things I’m not on board with.
