I want to do a fun bigger project during July-August, and also show love to all the Ace and Aro quizzies out there because they are important and lovely and deserve good things, SO I thought I’d draw a group portrait of as many Ace and Aro Quizzies as I can muster, to be finished and published sometime in the end of summer. In addition to the (hopefully) big-ass portrait everyone would get the picture of their individual Inquisitor to themselves because why not, I will have drawn them separately anyway. 🙂 Something like this (only full body):

I WILL draw more than one Inquisitor/person if you have more than one (I know I have two ace spectrum Inquisitors that will be there) but if there are a lot of people willing to be in the portrait I will limit the number to two quizzies so that I can actually finish this before summer is over. ^^

I’m guessing you haven’t come across many tips like these. When I was being abused, the only advice I found was about how to leave an abusive partner, or how to heal after you’ve left.
In this society we sometimes talk about abuse victims being strong after they leave, but frame them as weak before hand. I think that is so wrong. Living in an abusive relationship takes a strength that most people cannot even comprehend. you’re not weak because you stay. there are a million reasons why we stay because, frankly, abusers actively work to keep their victims trapped.
So know that if you’re in an abusive relationship right now as you read this, I think you are strong as fuck, and I am rooting hard as hell for you.
Honestly, if people feel even a little inclined to reblog this, I would appreciate it. Hello, my name is Adele, or Kat, the latter is more of a nickname. I’m a 21 year old trans girl who also happens to be a type 1 diabetic without insurance. What is diabetes, you may ask? Diabetes is a condition that infects the pancreas that hinders/disables it from producing insulin, therefore, I have to use insulin before meals and before bedtime or else I could go into ketoacidosis, where the body experiences high a blood sugar for too long, and basic body functions begin to fail, or I could fall into a coma if my blood sugar is too low for too long. I’ve been hospitalized twice for ketoacidosis, since I was diagnosed at 15 years old, and prolonged exposure to high blood sugar can effect the body in many harmful ways, like the loss of hands or feet, kidneys shutting down, loss of vision, etc. In case you didn’t know, insulin is a very expensive, novolog, for example, is over $450 for a single vial, and lantus being around $400 a vial. I currently live with my mother and brother which helps some of the financial strain, as well as having some insulin still left over from when I had insurance, but it won’t last forever, and what I aim to accomplish with this is to save up enough money for me to be able to buy it when it does run out, so I’m starting this a little early. If anyone sees the Amazon gift card post, don’t reblog it, as I would prefer donations being put into my PayPal/bank account which both are now set up.

Edit: I have since been informed that there are cheaper alternatives to buying insulin, but I will have to consult with my endocrinologist further about these means, and I was only basing my research I did on a few different online sellers and from my receipts I got when I still had insurance. Even at it’s cheapest, I’ve been told, could amount to around $150 – $250 per vial, which is still expensive, considering how this is a monthly cost that I will need insulin for the rest of my life.
Again, I ask you to please consider donating. I’ve gotten off to a good start and it’s helping me feel more relieved as I’m searching to get insurance, even a $1 will help me in the long run, and if you cannot donate, then please signal boost.
I’m not sure if your blog does this, but I figure I’d try anyway. The people in the state of Hawaiʻi are currently under a lot of heavy struggle and pressure to preserve their Native Hawaiian cultural rights as there will be a Thirty-Meter Telescope (TMT) that is in the works of being built ASAP on our highest and most sacred mountain, Mauna a Wākea. There are already 12 telescopes on the mountain, but the TMT would be bigger than all of them combined. The TMT is getting support from CalTech, Japan, China, and shamefully, even our own University of Hawaiʻi system on our islands. Many Native Hawaiian ancestors and high chiefs are buried on that mountain, and construction there of that immense proportion is against Hawai’i state laws that protect historical, culturally sensitive, and environmental areas. Protestors on that mountain have been arrested as of Thursday (4/2/2015), about 30 of them, and they need help raising money to fly people out to Hawai’i island from neighbor islands to keep protesting against construction, for additional supplies (protestors are staying overnight in their cars; it is currently snowing and at an elevation of 9,000 ft.), and possibly for bail money so that the people may continue to defend their rights and their land. The protests have been peaceful and the protestors have blockaded entrance further up the mountain for TMT construction workers and vehiclese only, while still allowing tourist vans and regular observatory workers through.
“We humbly ask the world and all those who hold the Mauna sacred to aid us in this struggle, which is for all of us and our future generations,” says Kealoha. “Please get to the Mauna and support the brave warriors who are protesting indefinitely at the 9000 foot level.” The group is requesting donations for flights to and from Hawaiʻi between the other Hawaiian islands as well as much-needed accommodations, including food, ground transportation and other essentials. I haven’t discussed this on my blog yet because it’s so overwhelming. Recently, due to the record breaking winter we’ve been having, there was damage to the house we live in. A lot of our belongings are ruined and we need to find somewhere else to live pretty quickly. Relocating is very difficult for us because my brother and I are both disabled, and even though I work as much as I can, money is extremely tight. This is all happening at once and things are just really scary for us right now.
