you don’t want to see posts about ferguson? well me neither. i don’t want to see unarmed black people being murdered, i don’t want to see kids being shot by the people they were taught to trust, i don’t want to see white cops being rewarded for it all. but it’s real. it’s happening. just because we don’t want to see it doesn’t mean we can ignore it. ignoring it won’t make it go away.

The worst part is that we all knew what the end result was going to be before the trial began because he’s a white police officer. Yet we hoped to be proven wrong.

based on comments about the hunger games especially, we have repeatedly seen folks find it easier to sympathize with fictional white people than actual black people
