asexualthings:

Asexuality is an orientation in which a person does not experience sexual attraction to any sex and/or gender. They do not feel an intrinsic desire to make sex a part of their relationships with other people. However they may still be able to experience other types of attraction, and desire relationships with other people.

Check out the following websites to learn more about asexuality, join in on the community, and/or help increase asexual visibility and education.

Who wants to bet that there’s a huge number of asexual people out there who don’t know they’re asexual because our society is hypersexualised – if you’re a dude, you’re pathetic, if you’re a woman you’re frigid/a prude/stuck up bitch.

This isn’t just about identity, this is about people who are shamed into sexual activity by either society or the medical industry. Every doctor I tell about my being asexual wants to prescribe me meds to “fix me”, send me to a sexologist, or “talk through it”.

We need to spread the word that not having sexual desire/being grossed by sex is normal and healthy and is totally acceptable.
