Hey so my rent went up over $50 a month and I owe $375 to the government in taxes despite both husband and I being at the highest withholding possible.

I also have tuition for fall semester due at the end of this month, and the raise I was supposed to get in August 2016 got denied for a third time by the corporate guys at my job because my boss accidentally had ONE typo on the request (yeah, really).

My body seems to hold the opinion that walking for prolonged periods of time is a Peculiarly Complicated Endeavor which is not to be undertaken by Amateurs such as myself. It has held this opinion for Several Years and has made it clear to me that it is Not a Fan of my efforts to prove it wrong.

I am not built for Endurance, sadly. I have no arches to speak of (they only Sort Of Exists if I’m sitting down), a shorter leg that will give me a hella limp if I don’t use a heel-lift, and my right leg seems to be jointed in at a funny angle (that foot/leg do not want to point straight, and the whole leg seems slightly angled to the right; this also means that “sitting like a lady” is not only something I dislike, but also something which my body physically rebels against). All of this also means that my lower back and hips tend to Lose the Ability to Can after extended walking (they also did this with standing when I was teaching).

TLDR; I need a job because I need money and also To Feel Useful, but my body is slow to get on board with the concept of Being Functional While Active.

That feel when the governor declares a state of emergency in advance of possible storms on the day of your first actual night shift of your night shift job.

The feel is confusing, because with Alabama weather, that shit will probably be Really Intense some places and Basically Nothing in others. Generally my corner is Basically Nothing, but still not relishing idea of potential weather-sheltering at work.

I hope I’m not bothering you I just trust you and need to express this. You don’t have to reply I’m just going crazy not telling anyone. I turned in a plagiarized essay and I know it was stupid of me and I regret it so much and I’m having terrible anxiety that my professor will find out and I’ll get kicked out of school. I’m not a bad person i just truly didn’t have time to do the essay

two things: 1) if you didn’t submit your paper through an online plagiarism checker like turnitin.com then honestly there’s a 99% chance you’ll be ok, 2) if they do find out, first time offenders usually do not immediately get kicked out of school, rather they’ll probably give you a warning or reduce your grade in that class.

if you already know your college’s plagiarism policy is super strict and you’re still worried, another possibility is withdrawing from the course.

in the future, it is always better to contact your professor and ask for an extension or turn it in late than to plagiarize.

Anon, it also really depends on how much the paper sounds like your usual verbal and written communication with the instructor. If it sounds “off”, they probably will Google whatever sounds “off.”

I say this as someone who student-taught 12th graders and caught at least half of the students spread across five class periods plagiarizing because they 1) used words I was pretty sure they didn’t know and 2) used phrases that didn’t sound like the way they wrote other things or the way they talked.

But they didn’t use actual essays written by someone else; they copied directly–and in a few cases 100%–from website articles or Wikipedia, which made them a lot easier to spot than if they’d actually turned in a paper with citations in it.

As in the above advice, do ask for an extension in the future (I know asking things like that can be hard) and maybe talk with your instructor if you’re having trouble coming up with directions for the assignment.

How awesome does this sound though. You get infinite money and once a week you get to take a child to a candy store or toys or us or somewhere they love and buy them as much they want this would be fun given the kid wasn’t a brat.

There is no downside to this at all

This is the best, because it says A CHILD, not your child, so I could pick one of the really poor kids on the streets and go “Your life is going to change right now”, and I could buy everything their family might need, along with a house, a food supply, toys, clothes, and everything they never had the chance to have before. And the best thing is that I could do this with lots of children, and not just one. I could give a lot of children in need a full week of Christmas basically and maybe give them a chance to have a different life. That would be great.

Plus depending on how you define “child”, you could be helping high students who struggling with application fines and even pay for college tuition, room and board, or books
