other people. It’s all the sort of Christian ethics stuff I thought was
bullshit when I was a kid. No, it turns out it’s not bullshit. Tell the truth, be kind, all that corny stuff.

thinking about all the good carrie left behind. her wonderful daughter, all the girls and women who were and are inspired by her strength, all her books and gift with words, her unmatched self-awareness and humor, facing mental illness and addiction and dedicating her life to helping others recover. she lived the fullest life in her short time with us and was truly one of brightest lights in our galaxy. rest in peace, carrie, knowing your legacy will live on.


Dedicate 2017 to Carrie Fisher. Do what space mom would have done. She never gave up and she wouldn’t want you to either. She’d want you to go and fight Donald Trump and use lots of emojis while doing it.

Billie Lourd, Fisher’s daughter, confirmed the death today in an official statement. Issued by family representative Simon Halls, the statement to People reads: “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning.” Her legacy is incontestable – and probably a lot more than you knew.
