Eviction Notice – Signal Boosting a Need for Help

So, things have become incredibly bad and unstable for my best friend, who you can find at both MiHawkes and FYeahVarric.

Losing a job does, of course, get you to those places, and work is hard to find to keep money coming in to pay bills, but more importantly, have a place to even live.  This is what’s happening with her—she and her mother have been between jobs, and she’s done her best to both look for some kind of outside help, as well as to open her own commission pages at FYVChibis where she’s does drawings to earn extra money to help.  I managed to get her a job doing what I do, but it’s more like part time work, and doesn’t support the full situation as it is.

Still, times are getting more and more tumultuous the longer this goes on and there’s been very little outside help to be had for her (such as through the Salvation Army, ect.).  Though she’s working the hardest she can to try to get extra money to help through her commission artwork, it hasn’t been quite enough to keep her from losing a place to live.  After all, even the best artist in the entire world can only do so many commissions at a time.

I worry for her not only because she may not have a place to live (which is of course enough to worry about in itself) but also because she may end up having to give up things that mean the world to her—for instance, she has two cats that she loves to pieces, and it’s heartbreaking to think she might have to get rid of them because of this.

She’s a very giving person and has helped me even more than I could probably recall right off the top of my head if you asked me to.  She’s been there for me through thick and thin, and she would never, ever ask anyone for a handout, preferring to earn her own way.

But this has become an emergency, and she doesn’t deserve to worry about where and how she’s going to live, so I couldn’t just sit here and do absolutely nothing.  If she loses a place to stay, she may lose the job she DOES have since it’s work from home and computer based.

I’d easily let her live with me of course, but I live four states away, so that kind of move is out of the question sadly.  Therefore I’m doing whatever else I can in order to help her out.  Opening a donation page to help pay for rent/moving, depending on which situation arises over the course of the next week, is one of the few things I could manage.  Like her, I find it difficult to ask when there are so many people in trouble right now, but this is a last resort, and something neither of us would consider doing first.  But this is a desperate time for her, and she needs all the help she can get.

So whether a signal boost, commissioning her for artwork, or a few bucks is donated, anything given would be incredibly appreciated!

To commission her for artwork: FYVChibis

For the donation page:  DonationsNote:  I’ve had to put this donation page on my livejournal even though I haven’t been there in forever due to the lack of a direct link on paypal’s part.

If you want more information on the commissions, please email her at fyeahvarric@yahoo.com.

For questions regarding the donations, please direct them to me at wesella@live.com or giegiex@hotmail.com and I’ll answer any question I can!

Thank you all for the time!!!  Sorry this has been such a long message, but it’s a bad situation and any help that can be given would be greatly appreciated.

You Are What You Eat of the Day: Speaking out on this morning’s Today Show about the reaction that followed the revelation that she suffers from type-2 diabetes, Butter Queen Paula Deen told Al Roker that “a few people were kind of mean about it and hold it against me.”

Deen announced on the Today Show in January that she was diagnosed with type-2 diabetes three years ago, but did not explain her reasoning for keeping the diagnosis to a secret.

Critics took issue with her proactive promotion of fatty, butter-rich foods — which continued despite her illness — and a shady endorsement deal she signed with diabetes drug maker Novo Nordisk shortly before her announcement.

Deen’s long-time publicist Nancy Assuncao quit immediately following the launch of her employer’s Novo Nordisk-sponsored “Diabetes in a New Light” campaign.

Responding to disapproval of her actions, Deen told the Today Show she has “always encouraged moderation,” and reiterated her previous comment to Oprah: “Honey, I’m your cook, not your doctor.

[today.]

Team Dean, idgaf.

THIS. What a diabetic cooks, eats, or does not cook, or does not eat, is nobody’s business but theirs. Their diabetes management is between them and their doctor, not between them and every non-diabetic under the sun (or even other diabetic–every diabetic’s body reacts differently to things because of variations in things like body chemistry and genetics).

More power to her. Haters to the left.

HI everyone

I don’t like having to get involved like this, but I need to clear something up as there is some misinformation being spread by someone.

The information Klace posted earlier is not accurate. I will not post what is and is not accurate about his claims, but, for whatever reason he chose to, he made up some of the information he told you was in the game.

I do not know why he chose to do this. When I confronted him about it through PM he initially gave me a lot of lies about being sent a copy by our PR team and how he was allowed to post his comments. After I called him on his lies, he admitted he has made up his contact with PR and what he posted. He has been banned form the forums now for deliberately trolling teh community with false information.

So please do not put too much validity into what he claimed he knew form playign the game. I have reason to believe he has made up everything he has claimed or has made accurate guesses.

We want ME players to expereince the romances in game for themselves, so I will not discuss what may or may not be acurate, buy please keep this in mind while you discuss what was claimed.

Thanks all.

I JUST WANNA KNOW WHO THE ROMANCES ARRRRRRRRRRE, QUIT YANKING MY CHAAAAAAAIN

Seriously @_@ I am doing my blind-run first game with my Liara-mancing femShep, partly so more information has time to come out before I run anyone else through.

Random things that pop into my head at 5am…eh, 5:40am…

Hmm.

Thoughts on my general tendencies when doing BioWare romances below the cut.

I had this much bigger, longer, and likely to end up rambly thing started, but remembered I’d done actually completed two femalePC/malePartyMember romances instead of one. Make that three: remembered I completed female Sith Warrior/Malavai Quinn is SWTOR.

I generally find BioWare’s ladies more interesting than their dudes, partly because my reaction ends up being “Oh, a VARIETY of interesting and non-damsel-in-distress female characters? LET ME KNOW AS MUCH AS I POSSIBLY CAN ABOUT THEM.”

But the main idea of my random thought was wondering if my own real-world fear of accidentally dating a Nice Guy if/when I ever start dating impacts how I view BioWare’s male LIs when I’m playing a female character. It might also have to do with my perception of power dynamics, though I think that’s a little less involved in why I wasn’t drawn to femPC/maleNPC in most BioWare games; in SWTOR, though, the fact that the power dynamic in the female Sith Warrior/Malavai Qunn relationship was pretty darn clearly in my Warrior’s favor did have a big impact of why I went for it.

Random thoughts. Partly brought on by spoilery semi-confirmation info about ME3 romanceoptions that I found on an LJ comm.
