So awhile back there was a post that was basically like, “Hey, my Flannel Loving peeps on a budget, Walmart has good-looking flannel for $8!”
After staring longingly at said flannel at work for like…a month or so, I finally broke down and snagged a couple, since they are snazzy and dress at my new job is “smart casual.”
Let me sing you the praises of this Faded Glory flannel. Let me start by saying that I have (annoying) boobs that land somewhere between a 42 DD and a 42 DDD. I have Issues finding button up shirts that, ya know, actually button, no matter what clothing department I look in. I also have the type 1 diabetic version of a beer belly, which also complicates shirt-finding.
I started with the Large (42/44—this size in men’s wear generally works for me in t-shirts, boxer briefs, and stretchy pants…pants with no give are hit or miss).
I put it on, buttoned it up, and lo, it was as if the clouds parted and a choir of angels began singing. It fit perfectly. No boob gap, no belly gap, no too-wide shoulders, no too-long or too-wide sleeves (praise be unto two button sleeves). Perfect fit. That is so rare for me.
So yes, if you love flannel, the $8 Faded Glory flannels at Walmart are a pretty good bet. Also, they’d look damn good with ties, so bonus points for versatility.
