so i’ve been looking into getting a tablet e-reader for a while, for reading and for a much less bulky way of showing my portfolio than lugging around my computer to cons and interviews, but i still don’t understand WHAT IS THE REAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE KINDLE AND THE NOOK
like i know kindle uses the amazon library and the nook uses barnes and noble but just comparing the specs online they both seem pretty similar aside from the price.
does anyone have any recommendations one way or another?
I havne’t tried the nook, but I really love my kindle. The interface is clean and easy, and I’ve got a crapton of books on there. And if you go with Amazon Prime, you can watch a bunch of videos for free.
downside is that when the WiFi is on, the batter drains like crazy
I got a Nook Tablet mainly because the way most Kindles (that were around at the time–I have no idea if newer models have done away with this, as the Kindle Fire wasn’t out yet when I got the Nook equivalent of it) do the page turning–screen going to an inverted version of itself with black page and white letters–was kind of strobe-y to me and made me feel kind of sick.
Probably not an issue with tablet versions of Kindle, but definitely an issue with just the e-reader versions
