Very few people learn this shit in high school, I assure you. I used MLA in high school, but didn’t learn that other styles existed until about sophomore year of undergrad. And that was just learning that Chicago/Turabian existed. I didn’t know APA existed until I was almost a senior and had to learn how to teach people to use it when I became a tutor.

So don’t feel bad; most folks don’t get this till college.
