This is one of the things that bothered me a lot about DA2.
Not ALL people are bisexual, gay, or lesbian.

Is this supposed to be something that people do not know? I can assure you that yes, people are aware that straight people exist.  As I have previously said, it’s kind of difficult for me to forget straight people exist because a lot of the people rallying and actively attempting to deny me rights just happen to be straight! This is not to say all straight people do that—it would be a terrible misconception on my part, because hey, it’s not true.  But y’know all those politicians pushing solid anti-LGBT rhetoric, the people voting for them, and the homophobic people actively working to make life harder for queer people?  They happen to be straight.  It’s a bit hard for me to, you know, forget that.

But you know what though, if you play just about any other game… everyone is straight.  DA, DA2, ME2, Persona 2 and one of the Fallout games (idr which one atm) are the only exceptions coming to me off of the top of my head.  Up until I played DA, that’s how things were—if there was any kind of romantic subplot, it was 100% heterosexual, 100% of the time.  Occasionally it would be some vaguely homoerotic thing played up for the $$$ that finishes with a big whoppin’ NO HOMO.

So y’know, there are worse things than queer people feeling comfortable and normal because they’re playing a game with a fair amount of queer companions.  Not all of your companions are even queer.  Not even all of the LIs are.

It’s an escapist fantasy game where people were granted the option to play the way they wanted to.  Why does someone always need to roll up and be like THAT AIN’T REALISTIC THERE ARE STRAIGHT PPL TOO. Why.

The thing is, all of the romance options in DA2 ARE bisexual.
I have nothing against peoples’ sexual orientations, they can do whatever the fuck they want when they want to and that goes with anything.

But, what are the chances that all of them would be bisexual?
The only companions that aren’t romanceable are the straight characters.

And, I never said there was anything wrong with someone being comfortable with their sexuality nor do I honestly care. It’s up to that person to decide how they feel about themselves. And I never in any way said it was wrong to feel that way.

tldr; I have nothing against gays/bisexuals/lesbians.
I just pointed out that not everyone is that way. (Which I’m fully aware that people already know.)

Aveline is not-romanceable, but she’s also not as straight as a lot of people seem to assume. If femHawke flirts with her throughout the wooing Donnic questline, Aveline will ask Hawke if she thinks, had things been different, there could have been something (the implication is clearly a romantic something) between them.

Also, as other people have pointed out, Sebastian is a hetero-and-only-hetero romance option.
