It’s called “Dragon Age Mood”:
1. “In the Sun (Desert Dwellers Remix)” by Donna de Lory.
“I picture you in the sun wondering what went wrong/And falling down on your knees asking for sympathy/And being caught in between all you wish for and all you seen/And trying to find anything you can feel…
I have a short playlist for my f!Cousland warrior. It’s a mix of general Blight, FML, and a little bit shippy with an unhardened Leliana.
1. “Everybody Out of the Water” – The Wallflowers
“They say nobody panic, help is on it’s way,
We’re already on it, you’ve got to be brave.
If you can fix it now, then don’t make us wait.
Man there ain’t nobody coming back away from the gates.
That bell that you hear, that’s hell ringing in your ears.”
General Blight stuff.
2. “When I’m Gone” – 3 Doors Down
“Somewhere in this darkness / There’s a light that I can’t find
Maybe it’s too far away / Or maybe I’m just blind.” The line “right me when I’m wrong” particularly works for my Kyra and Leliana as Kyra nearly made the “wrong” (in her own eyes when thinking more clearly, and in the eyes of like, everyone I had in her party in the Deep Roads) decision of siding with Branka. The only thing that stopped her from doing that was Leliana calling her out on it.
3. “Animal I Have Become” – Three Days Grace
“Somebody help me through this nightmare.” This one is mostly Kyra feeling like she can never quite come back from some of the things she’s done (the main ones being accidentally letting “Kitty” possess the little girl, killing Connor, and almost siding with Branka with full knowledge of what she’d done to her own people).
4. “Enter Sandman (Instrumental)” – Apocalyptica
Mood music.
5. “Ballad for Dead Friends” – Dashboard Prophets
“How are you feeling? / Do you feel OK? / ‘Cause I don’t.
It keeps me reelin’ / Will I ever be the same? / No I won’t.” Kyra has to try to save the world after beinf bombarded with the murder of her family, the deaths of Jory and Daveth, and the slaughter of Duncan, Cailan, and most of the people she met at Ostagar.
